Last week Melissa and I spent Monday and Tuesday in New Orleans touring the seminary campus and meeting with professors. We really enjoyed it. Everything just seemed to make sense. So, we are moving forward. I turned my application in and an now waiting. Hopefully all my credit will transfer without any problem. I was so encouraged to talk with some of the men I was able to sit with. Walking with God is such and awesome journey! I am blessed to be able to live a life surrendered completely for His purposes. I know I have not risked my life on the mission field as of yet (nor is that my plan, but we must be willing) but this Jim Elliot quote has ministered to me in my thoughts lately:
"He is no fool, who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose."
That is so good. It reminds me of Paul's statement, "For me to live is Christ and to die is gain." There is truly nothing I would rather do than to serve the God of my salvation, the Lord Jesus Christ, with all of my life.
As we came home, I once again realized how much God has blessed me with a wonderful wife and two beautiful little girls. I love them more everyday. It is cool just to try and imagine how life will play out for us; and even cooler to live it as God orchestrates all things.
