On Sunday we preached twice. The first service started at 6am and the second at 9am. They have Sunday School before both services. Believe it or not, the first service is the one everyone attends. Even the second service was almost full of people, but the first service had more people crammed in than I would ever think possible. In America, a sanctuary the size of this one may seat 400 to 500 but they had well over 2X that amount (just guessing here)....you could not walk around. It was quite a site to see, and a great experience. The Lord seemed to move in people's hearts as we challenged them to be kingdom minded Christians that bear fruit. We ran out of time and could not give an invitation in the first service, but in the second service I know at least on man accepted Christ (even though it was not an "evangelistic" message...God's Word is POWERFUL!).
Monday we led a team of people to share the gospel in a public place. There is a soccer park in Petion-ville where lots of people of all ages hang out. We gave out hundreds of tracts, New Testaments, some used the flipper-flapper, and some the EvangeCube to share the gospel. Melissa, Pudens, and I had the opportunity to lead many people to Christ today...we were trying to keep names to continue to pray for them, but it happened too quickly. Others who went with us also were used of God to bring people to faith in Christ. It was a great day! But, quite exhausting...Some of those that received Christ asked for tracts to share with others. It was great. We have given out all the Bibles except about 20 New Testaments that we saved for the airport. It is such a good place to share the gospel with people. Pray for us.
We have the day tomorrow here in Haiti, our flight leaves at 5pm and we should be in New Orleans at 11:15pm (if there are no delays).
more to come....(maybe not from Haiti though)
