Semester At A Glance

First, I want to say thank you to all of you who have supported me prayerfully, financially, and or with encouragement this semester. (Chances are if you are reading this then you fit into one or more of those categories!). It has been a good semester. It was tough in many ways because I think in some ways the newness is wearing off of the seminary thing and so much of what I am doing.

Yet, God grew me tremendously and showed much of himself to me. I finished well this semester! Not to brag (because I would report how I was doing even if it was terrible), but I did finish with a 4.0 this semester which brings me to a 3.87 overall with 47 hours completed on the Masters degree. It was no easy task, but I like to try my best...I am so thankful to my wife and kids for their understanding for the long hours and late nights of studying. Melissa is my coach! She will not be happy if I do not make "all A's". I am tempted to think Melissa cares more than both me and God about the particular grades I make...

More important than grades is the growth that the Holy Spirit has wrought in me through the process of studying, reading, and writing. I know that God has grown me more over the past year of Seminary than ever in my walk with him. For this I praise Him! and I thank all of you and my Seminary friends and profs.

I have a break until the end of January. Before I go back I will have the opportunity to go on a mission trip to join a friend in Central America who works with pastors of underground churches. I am looking forward to this work trip and then starting school.

Thank you for reading, (because it means you probably care) and please continue to pray for us as we desire to spend our lives making much of Jesus among his creation.
